It's because they felt left out...

Veteran's Mall, Main Street, Greenfield, Massachusetts If you live in Greenfield, Massachusetts you've probably had an encounter or two with these little forest caterpillars. According to the article in today's Recorder by Patrick O'Connor and Richie Davis this population boost is odd and almost unprecedented. I, of course, understand what is going on. These little fellas are feeling felt out because I didn't capture their antics in my post titled Close-up insect pictures. In my defense, I'm not sure you're considered an insect until you pupate and become moths but you have my attention. Presented for your viewing pleasure, Greenfield's caterpillar INVASION!
